Application Reports Designer/Database Developer

We are currently searching for midlevel to senior level individual contributor to join our team in downtown San Francisco. The successful candidate will work with other members of the team to deliver a variety of reports spanning multiple applications and dimensions of the company business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Development of a variety of reports spanning multiple applications and dimensions of the company business.
- Intensive hands-on involvement with reporting and database-related components of the SDLC.
- Database schema design and optimization for new products and features. Stored procedure design and coding for complex reports.
- Design and administration of OLAP data repositories and reporting environment using Microsoft Analysis Services
- Development of various reports and reporting interfaces utilizing Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and Microsoft Access (which connects to MS-SQL data sources)
- Administration of in-house (Development and QA) MS SQL Server and MS Analysis Server, MS SQL Reporting Services instances
- Scripting, automation, and optimization of repetitive database/reporting tasks using DTS, stored procedures, user-defined functions, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the software industry with significant exposure to reporting and design of business and consumer applications.
- Minimum 3 years recent professional experience administering and developing for MS SQL Server
- Knowledge SQL Reporting Services and report development using VS.NET
- Experience working with non-technical staff to produce reports based on company requirements
- Experience developing Microsoft Access forms that connect to an MS-SQL server instance via pass-thru queries and views
- Experience writing stored procedures, complex SQL statements, views, user-defined functions, and triggers
- Experience/knowledge of scripting administrative tasks in MS SQL Server (database creation, database backups, SQLAgent job creation, job schedule creation, replication configuration, publication and article definition, etc) desirable
- Experience programming DTS packages
- BSCS or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge/experience in the following areas is a great plus but is not required:
- Experience with other OLAP tools, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouses
- Experience with formal SDLC with exposure to best design practices and techniques
- Scripting DTS using Visual Basic or Visual C++
- Familiarity with CVS and Jakarta ANT
- Microsoft Certification a plus (MCP, MCSD, MCDBA)
- Detail oriented, methodical, meticulous, process -oriented; however open to change and motivated by innovation.
- Great collaborator and communicator - both verbal and written skills are quite important. Accustomed to working in cross-functional teams.
