Edward Fotsch, MD
Edward Fotsch, M.D.'s professional experience spans health care, information technology and business start up/syndication commerce. Dr. Fotsch has over ten years experience in the clinical practice of medicine and was the founding chairman of a Northern California IPA with 200+ physician members. Since 1995, Doctor Fotsch has lead organizations that provide Internet-based healthcare applications, networks and communications services. In 1996 he founded, was CEO and Board Chair for Metis LLC, one of the first Internet Health firms in the country. Healtheon purchased Metis in 1998 and Dr. Fotsch served as a senior executive until joining Medem in 1999.

Dr. Fotsch authored Planning and Implementing Your Healthcare Internet Strategy, published by Atlantic Information Services, copyright 1996, and has also been published repeatedly in the area of online professional liability, including a chapter on eHealth liability in Medical Malpractice, A Physician's Sourcebook, 2005 Humana Press Inc. He is a frequent conference speaker in healthcare IT and is regularly quoted as an expert in physician Internet and IT issues by the national press including the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, AP, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal

Dr. Fotsch graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his postgraduate work at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Fotsch is currently the CEO of Medem Inc., the corporation founded in 1999 by six of the nations medical societies and the AMA to deliver the premier secure online physician communications network in the country. In this capacity he lead the formation of the eRisk Guidelines- the national standards adopted by liability carriers, medical societies and state boards governing provider-patient communication online. Dr. Fotsch is 48 years old and lives in Sausalito CA with his wife and four children; two sets of twins.

Nancy Dickey, MD
Nancy Wilson Dickey, M.D., currently serves as president of The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs. Prior to her appointment as president, Dr. Dickey served as interim dean of the College of Medicine from June 2000 until December 31, 2001. She took office as HSC president on January 1, 2002. Dr. Dickey is a past president of the American Medical Association, the founding program director of the Family Practice Residency of the Brazos Valley and professor of Family and Community Medicine at the A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

In addition to serving as president of the AMA in 1998-1999, Dr. Dickey has participated innumerous other professional organizations, from the American Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Academy of Family Physicians to the Texas Medical Association. Among Dr. Dickey's many honors are recognitions by the Texas Society of Pathologists, the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and five honorary doctoral degrees, including a Doctor of Science from the University of Massachusetts and a Doctor of Laws from the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dickey is the Chair of the iHealth Alliance, a not-for-profit advisory board comprised of healthcare leaders that will oversee privacy of iHealthRecords, protecting the interests of patients and physicians.

Dr. Dickey earned her undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, followed by her M.D. in 1976 from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she was a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. From 1987 to 1990, she was on the National Institutes of Health's Advisory Council on Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and in 2003 she was appointed to the Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Dickey has also been an active editorial advisor and reviewer for a number of professional publications and has contributed to general-interest periodicals as well. Currently, she serves as editor in chief of Medem, an Internet-based patient education company. Medem is a partnership of the AMA, medical specialty societies and several state associations. She has served as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Association and on the editorial advisory boards of Patient Care, Medical World News, Medical Ethics Advisor and Archives of Family Medicine. She also is a frequent speaker at professional and civic organizations around the country.

Henry DePhillips, M.D
Henry DePhillips, M.D. joined Medem in 2007 and serves as Chief Medical Officer. In this capacity, Dr. DePhillips will support Medem's strategic development, product direction and sales and marketing efforts. From 2004 to 2007, Dr. DePhillips was Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of MEDecision, Inc.

From 2000 until 2004, Dr. DePhillips served as Medical Director and then Senior Medical Director of Independence Blue Cross while also serving as Senior Medical Director of AmeriHealth Administrators. From 1996 until 2004, Dr. DePhillips was Regional Medical Director of AmeriHealth Insurance Company. For ten years prior to that, he was a Family and Community Medicine Physician practicing in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. DePhillips received a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from Trinity College and an M.D. degree from Hahnemann University. Dr. DePhillips is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. DePhillips has served as a member of the national lecturing faculty of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and is a highly sought after speaker for national industry events. He has been published in several healthcare and information technology journals and he is an acknowledged subject matter expert in healthcare IT systems.

Robert Burg
Robert Burg is Medem's Vice President of Business Development and Sales. He began his career in Arthur Andersen's healthcare division and now has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Prior to joining Medem, Bob served in a similar business development capacity for Eclipsys Corporation, a healthcare information technology company providing enterprise solutions to health systems.

Bob has also served as VP of Sales for MedSafe, a Venture company backed accreditation and regulatory compliance firm serving hospitals and physician groups and he also started the East Coast division of FPA Medical Management, a national publicly traded physician practice management company focused on managed care contracting for physicians.

Mr. Burg served twelve years as a chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Memorial Health Alliance, a health system in Southern New Jersey. Mr. Burg is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Villanova University.

Nick Krym
As Vice President of Engineering, Nick Krym is responsible for the software development, production support and IT operations of Medem. Nick's hands-on involvement in all aspects of technology operations, vendor and technology partner's relationships, as well as industry technology organizations ensures consistency in the product and service offerings of the company.

Prior to joining Medem, Nick served as VP of Engineering with Spear Technologies, Inc., ran a 100+ engineering organization for Asera, Inc., as well as co-founded and led several Internet start-ups with the primary focus in b2b and b2c space. Nick brings to Medem a wealth of experience in building and operating engineering and professional services organizations, experience that he gained building eCommerce applications for Fortune 500 companies such as General Mills, Applied Materials, GNC, Michelin, General Motors, as well as global companies such as British Petroleum, Stinnes AG, Siemens, and others.

In his twenty years of experience that spans hi-tech, financial, pharmaceutical, healthcare and other industries, Nick has come through the ranks of engineering organizations playing a role of individual contributor, technical lead, and architect as well as manager and executive. He led successful efforts that include developing off-the-shelf products, custom software, and applications delivered under ASP model. Nick enjoys a great breadth of experience in legacy as well as modern technologies.

Nick earned degrees in engineering and in applied mathematics from well-known universities of Moscow, Russia. Nick moved to the USA in 1991 and has lived in California since 1999.

Debra A. Del Guidice
Ms. Debra Del Guidice serves as Medem's president and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of the company's strategies and operations. She reports to and is the primary contact for Medem's Board of Directors on all matters relating to the development and operation of the business.

Prior to joining Medem, Ms. Del Guidice served as general manager of member organization services at Healtheon Corp., where she managed Healtheon's business strategies with physician specialty societies. While there, she oversaw member portal strategies and developments, member surveys, health care industry partnerships, and Healtheon's first Physicians on the Internet Conference.

Ms. Del Guidice's previous business experience includes service as chief operating officer at Metis LLC, the San Francisco-based developer of medical Intranet applications, strategies, and networks. As one of five founding team members, she was responsible for all operational aspects of the business. She was executive vice president for NetSource Communications, Inc. and was president of CD3 Consulting, Inc., a strategic consulting service to financial and health care clients. Earlier in her career, she worked as vice president of operations at The SoftAd Group, a pioneer in the field of technology and computer-based communications strategies, and as a general manager at BMW of North America, Inc.

Ms. Del Guidice served as the executive director of the Medical Intranet Forum and was a board member for the Women in New Media group from 1993 to 1996. She majored in Business Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.

Fred McCall-Perez, Ph.D.
Fred McCall-Perez, Ph.D., is Medem's Vice President of Marketing. With 25 years of healthcare experience, he has served as a senior executive for several start-up healthcare and medical technology companies including: Quality Clinical Services, HealthOnline.com, and was founder and CEO of LifeWay Disease Management, and the first Medical Adviser for WebMD.

Previously, Dr. McCall-Perez was President of Group Practice Consultants, a Miami-based health care firm offering consultation to group practices, physician sponsored networks, hospital organizations, insurance and managed care companies. In 1985, he helped form one of the nation's first managed behavioral healthcare companies, American Biodyne, where he led the company's transformation from a start-up staff model to one of the nations' largest network-model delivery systems.

Dr. McCall-Perez has published a number of professional articles and is the author of the book, Physician Equity Groups and Other Competitive Entities for Physicians (McGraw-Hill, 1997), and also served as a White House Policy Representative on healthcare and as a speaker for the White House on health care reform during the Clinton Administration.

Dr. McCall-Perez received a B.S. in Mental Retardation from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from The Ohio State University, and his Ph.D. in Learning Disabilities from the University of Arizona, where he practiced as a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. McCall-Perez also holds an MBA from the University of Miami.

Todd G. Choy
As the Chief Financial Officer at Medem, Mr. Choy oversees the accounting, finance, human resources, and administrative operations. Todd also acts as the Company's Secretary and Treasurer for the Board of Directors. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from San Francisco State and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance/Real Estate from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Choy most recently assisted in raising three rounds of venture capital funding for planet U Inc., an Internet consumer promotions company, as the corporate controller. Previously, Mr. Choy held various Director positions in finance, operations and sales at The Gap and Nestle USA.

Leslie Yuan
Leslie Yuan serves as Medem's Vice President, Product Management and Member Services. In this role, Ms. Yuan oversees the product management and member services teams, coordinates product development, documentation and deployment, and assists the member marketing team with product launches to external customers and partner medical societies. Her member services team provides the technical product support to Medem's physician and patient customers around the world.

After earning a Master's of Public Health in Epidemiology from UC Berkeley, Ms. Yuan began her career as a statistical programmer, first for the California Department of Health Services and later for Syntex Corp., a pharmaceutical company. She spent the next 10 years at Chevron, first conducting epidemiologic research on the health effects of working in the petroleum industry, and later in Human Resources, where she was responsible for designing and planning the benefits for Chevron's self-insured and fully-insured health care plans.

Before coming to Medem, Ms. Yuan worked at Healtheon doing market research, survey analysis, and marketing meetings support. She began her work at Medem in January 2000 as director of operations.

Ms. Yuan currently serves on the board of directors of a San Francisco non-profit agency, which provides support for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University.

Maria Robinson
Ms. Maria Robinson currently serves as Medem's Vice President of Client Operations. In this role, she is responsible for the implementation, client marketing, training/education, and call center support teams that manage the deployment of iHealth solutions with clients nationwide. During the founding years, Ms. Robinson oversaw and developed the society partner and member marketing team within the organization, and after a short break returned to Medem in 2001 to focus on client management.

Prior to joining Medem, Ms. Robinson served as Director of Society Partnerships for the member organization services at Healtheon Corp., where she managed relationships with physician specialty societies. At Metis LLC, the San Francisco-based developer of medical Intranet applications, strategies, and networks, Ms. Robinson managed client engagements that delivered web-based applications and solutions in the early years of the Internet. As one of founding team members, she maintained strong relationships with key clients as the start-up expanded and was later acquired by Healtheon.

Ms. Robinson has also served in various account management roles in marketing/communications agencies with a focus on healthcare and pharmaceutical clients; and has held marketing roles as a consultant developing e-commerce business plans and marketing programs for pharmaceutical companies and medical centers.

She received her liberal arts degree in Social Sciences and Global Studies from Alverno College, in Milwaukee, WI, and the American Institute for Foreign Studies in Florence, Italy; and was a distinguished scholar to the S.C. Johnson Wingspread Foundation.
