Earn 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM and Learn More About Personal Health Records(PHRs)

The first ever Personal Health Record (PHR) Continuing Medical Education (CME) course: Personal Health Records: Electronic Connectivity in Healthcare has been created by Medem, Inc. through joint sponsorship with the Texas Medical Association.
Physicians who wish to take the course for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM, need only pay a nominal $15 administration fee directly to the Texas Medical Association. This option is provided at the end of the PHR CME course.
This course is fully accredited and meets all ACCME requirements and guidelines.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the concept of Personal Health Records (PHRs) and their impact on patients, physicians and payers;
- Recognize the difference between an Electronic Medical Record and a Personal Health Record, as well as integration of both;
- Identify attitudes and adoption of Personal Health Records in the patient population in light of a rise in consumer-driven health care;
- Recognize impact and implications of the PHR in pay-for-performance, Medicare, and government policy, and medical liability;
- Identify resources for patients to create Personal Health Records; and
- Identify ways to integrate the use of Personal Health Records into a physician practice.
