What is iHealth Video?
iHealth Video is a dynamic new video capability available through iHealth, the award-winning suite of online patient communication services powered by Medem. By integrating Google's YouTube technology with iHealth member web sites, we offer a dynamic, engaging way for physicians to provide rich, multimedia information to their patients. The result is demonstrable value for patient education, procedure explanation, and practice marketing.

Why do I need an iHealth Video?
iHealth Video enables any physician-member of the iHealth network to enliven their medical practice web site with affordable video that improves the patient experience and helps the practice market their services. These short video clips can include a medical practice introduction and overview, procedure information, treatment options and guidelines for additional practice services, including the online Personal Health Record (PHR) or secure online communications between staff and patients.

Who is going to watch iHealth Video?
A 2007 Harris Interactive poll found that 80% of all adults are now online and nearly three-quarters (71%) of adults have used the Internet to research health information, while another Harris poll found that YouTube videos are watched by 42% of Americans. For any physician interested in building and strengthening their practice, iHealth Video offers an easy solution.

Who supports iHealth Video?
Organized medicine remains very supportive of new services that offer both a clinical and business value to physician practices. For nearly a decade, medical societies including the American Medical Society (AMA) founded Medem and have lent strong support for online services like HIPAA-compliant secure email, PHRs and disease management resources. How does iHealth Video work?
iHealth Videos are hosted on YouTube, Google's industry leading online video service. iHealth allows physicians and practices to link directly to your video on their iHealth web site. iHealth Video is an integrated component of an iHealth site, offering familiar reassurance and helpful information for both new and established patients alike.

What is the iHealth Video Resource Center (VRC)?
The iHealth VRC is an online directory for anyone interested in creating an iHealth Video and embedding it within their iHealth web site. The VRC offers an overview of video terminology, suggestions for video production and links to community resources that can help ensure the professional quality of iHealth Videos.

Is it difficult to integrate iHealth Video on my web site?
It is very easy to add iHealth Video to your site. Whether you already have a video or want to create a new one, uploading it to your iHealth site is a simple process. For complete step-by-step instructions on uploading your iHealth Video, please refer to the iHealth VRC. Please note that Medem's Client Services team is also available to assist with video uploads as soon as your footage is finalized.

When can I create an iHealth Video?
iHealth Video is live! If you already have a practice video, you can upload it to your iHealth site right away. Follow the instructions on VRC to upload or contact Medem Client Services today.

How can I create an iHealth Video?
Medem does not offer a video resource for the production of videos, however we can recommend local services to assist you. For suggestions and resources related to creating an iHealth Video, visit the VRC.

How much does iHealth Video cost?
Posting an iHealth Video is available to any practice with a current, paid iHealth subscription and a live practice web site. While there are production costs for video creation that will vary based on your local resources, there is no additional charge to use the iHealth Video service once you have subscribed to iHealth.

How do I measure how many people are viewing my iHealth video?
All iHealth Videos are hosted through Google's YouTube service, which tracks the number of view for every video available through the service. Simply click on your iHealth Video to directly access YouTube and see how many times your video has been viewed.

Are there other services like iHealth Video?
To our knowledge, iHealth Video is the first healthcare service that offers physicians and medical practices the ability to embed videos on their web sites.

What if my iHealth Video is not viewable?
iHealth Video is hosted through YouTube. In the event that YouTube experiences technical difficulties,,iHealth Videos may not be viewable until YouTube addresses its network issues. Medem is not responsible for YouTube-related video downtime.

Will the YouTube logo show up on my site?
Since YouTube hosts all iHealth Videos, a discrete, translucent YouTube logo is overlaid upon all videos.

Will YouTube show ads on my iHealth Video?
No. Although YouTube recently announced that it has begun pairing select videos with paid ads, at present there is no plan to roll out ads across all videos hosted through YouTube. Ads will only run on corporate sponsor videos.

Can I use QuickTime or other formats?
iHealth Video supports the following file formats: .mpg, .mov, .avi or .wmv.
